For the second time, the nationwide dermatology network onkoderm e.V. honored innovative scientific and therapeutic concepts that can improve the treatment success of patients in dermatological specialist practice in a sustainable and forward-looking way. As the winner of the 2019 onkoderm Science Award, the first chairman of the network, Prof. Dr. Uwe Reinhold, congratulated physicist Dr. rer. nat. Łukasz Szyc on receiving the onkoderm Science Award for outstanding scientific achievements in the field of dermatology. Dr. Szyc developed an algorithm as the basis of the dermatofluoroscopy, which is a completely new diagnostic method for the early detection of malignant melanoma. With this, he has made a very significant scientific contribution to early and accurate diagnostics.
