idea® publication is online

Our research on the impact of an AI assistant for dermatoscopy has been published in Dermatology Practical & Conceptual.

At the heart of the study is idea® — the first published fully transparent and interactive AI-powered decision-support platform of its kind in dermatology.

In this study involving 16 experienced dermoscopists, idea® significantly improved diagnostic accuracy and management decisions for challenging pigmented skin lesions. Physicians also rated the software as trustworthy and supportive, and found it compatible with their clinical workflow – key factors for successful adoption in clinical practice.

These findings add to the growing body of evidence that AI-powered decision support can complement clinical expertise and help physicians make more informed decisions, particularly in challenging cases.

Beyond its use in research, idea® is certified as a Class IIa medical device for clinical use.
